The i-SAFE (Improving Patient Safety & Human Factors Training in Medical Emergencies) Course uses simulation-based education to improve technical skills, human factors awareness, and key generic capabilities in healthcare professionals to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
TARGET PARTICIPANTS:
Doctors: IMT3 / ST3 & Above (Any Specialty)
Senior Nurses – Experienced BAND 6 & Above
* All candidates should have at least 6 months NHS experience
LEARNING OBJECTIVE:
•Understand the significance of human factors and non-technical skills in managing emergencies and ensuring patient safety.
•Enhance awareness of human factors within healthcare environments, in alignment with GMC professional standards, including leadership during medical emergencies, team management, collaboration, communication, decision-making, and resource utilization—empowering the participants to mitigate human errors.
TEACHING METHODS:
•Engaging interactive lectures
•Hands-on simulation sessions with detailed debriefing by experienced faculty
•Collaborative group discussions
•Experiential and reflective learning activities
The event is accredited by the Royal College of Anaesthetists for 6 CPD credits
