Description

Welcome to the registration system for the Inverness Angling Club Centenary Speycasting Tournament to be held on the River Ness on Friday and Saturday, September 1 and 2, 2017, as part of Scotland’s Salmon Festival. The tournament is the key element of the club’s centenary celebrations and is being organised in association with three times world Speycasting champion and record holder Scott Mackenzie. It follows a successful inaugural event in 2015 which commemorated the achievements of Speycaster and rod builder Alexander Grant, the famed ‘Wizard of the Ness’.

Prizes will include silver-plated Centenary Quaichs for winners and runners up in open and ladies competitions, plus cash awards of £1,000, £500 and £300 for open first, second and third, and £500 and £300 for the winning lady and runner-up. This year will see the introduction of a junior award of a Centenary Quaich for Speycasters aged 17 and under. Two heats on the Friday will be followed by a third heat on Saturday morning and junior, ladies and men’s finals on the Saturday afternoon. The close of the event will be followed by a prizegiving ceremony at a civic reception hosted by the Provost and Councillors of the City of Inverness Area Committee in the historic Inverness Town House.
