Description

This two day workshop will highlight some of the positive things that economics can contribute to society. It is the inaugural workshop of the newly formed Institute for Applied Economics and Social Value at Leicester Castle Business School, De Montfort University. We are grateful to the Royal Economic Society for providing financial support for the workshop.

Come and present your work

We invite submissions from people interested to present their work at the workshop. Relevant topics include:

Pro-social behaviour,
Tackling poverty and inequality,
Sustainable economic growth,
Environmental economics,
Development economics,
Charitable giving.

If you would like to present your work please submit an extended abstract (approximately 1000 words) to iaesv@dmu.ac.uk by 15th April 2019. We aim to provide feedback on your submission by 30th April 2019. The workshop is free to attend and lunch will be provided.


Support for PhD students

Submissions from PhD students are welcome and we will hold a session specifically for PhD students to discuss their work and receive feedback. An award will be made for the best PhD presentation. We also have funding to support PhD students travel and accommodation. Specifically, we will provide support of up to £250 for a select number of PhD students to attend the event. PhD students wanting to receive financial support should submit a CV together with either a research paper or detailed PhD outline.
