Known often as simply IDS, Iain was Leader of the Conservative Party and Leader of the Opposition 2001-3.
More recently 2010-2016, Iain has worked as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions making important progress encouraging more people into work than ever before with the work program and extended pension age. Iain has tackled sensitive issues such as universal credit and disability benefits, He recently resigned over George Osborne’s proposed cuts to disability allowance.
Iain has strong views on Brexit and retaining control over UK borders.
