Ian Hamilton Finlay – Avant Gardener

Join us in celebrating the centenary of the internationally acclaimed artist, poet and gardener Ian Hamilton Finlay, with a special online event hosted by the Scottish Society for Art History. Our speakers will explore Finlay’s fascination with nature, most famously manifested in the development of his art garden Little Sparta.

The event will feature short talks by Magnus Linklater (Chair of Little Sparta Trust), Kirstie Meehan (National Galleries Scotland) and James Wylie (V&A Dundee).

The event will be held on Zoom and participants will be emailed a link in advance.

This event is part of the Art History Festival 2025 organised by the Association for Art History.
