Event description

Description

The International Association for Prevention of Complications in Aesthetic Medicine (IAPCAM) is a non profit organisation, working with international doctors, all specialist in aesthetic medicine on a consensus for the management and prevention of complications. There will be an annual meeting to agree/update the guideliness.

As you are all aware there has been an increase in numbers of mis-managed complications due to an increasing numbers of practitioners offering an increasing number of treatments and a range of new treatments and products each year.

Industry comments indicate that there is a growing need for expert training in the management of acute and chronic complications; particularly relating to dermal fillers, and the use of hyalase, when to, and when not to use, the appropriate doses to prescribe and how to manage vascular complications. There is also a growing need to manage other types of aesthetic complications arising from the increased use of botulin toxin, lasers, chemical peels and the myriad other treatments available.

The aims of IAPCAM are to help the industry to establish a body of knowledge to share with medical practitioners in this field. IAPCAM aim to provide annual consensus updates as well as practical, evidence-based hands on training, collaborating with top pharmaceutical and aesthetic companies within the UK.

Join us for our next symposium, on Friday 20th September at Church House Conference Centre in Westminster, London for an exciting and novel agenda. We are organising a balance of lectures and lives demos demonstrating how to handle complications to help you in your daily practice.

For next year we are planning to do individual sessions on specific complications, in which we can first present a description of the complication followed by different case studies and their outcomes. Our Faculty will then provide the treatment protocol as defined through international consensus in conjunction with IAPCAM.
The focus for these case studies will be inflammatory and non-nodules, infections, granulomas and vascular complications.

For this reason we will need your help. If you have any interesting cases that you are happy to share, either presenting them yourself or through a faculty member, please contact us at info@iapcam.co.uk. so we can discuss case history and suitability.

We will be joined by a panel of international speakers and professionals from pharmaceutical companies who have agreed to collaborate on the formation of the IAPCAM guidelines and training. IAPCAM education is open to doctors, nurses and dentist.
