Celebrate Ice Age Europe Day with Creswell Crags, and discover what Europe was like tens of thousands of years ago.

About this event

Discover Ice Age Europe through a combination of activities never before experienced together at Creswell Crags. The day will begin with three talks exploring the mammals, humans and art of the Ice Age. The afternoon will feature a cave tour, a close look at some of the palaeontology and archaeology objects, and an exciting array of 'survival skills'. These include skills such as atl-atl throwing demonstrations and bow drill fire making.

The day will be led by three staff members (Andrea, Angharad and Hannah), who have extensive and varied backgrounds in Ice Age archaeology and palaeontology.

For in-person participants, ticket price includes all talks and activities, plus free entry to the exhibition. Please aim to arrive by 9:45 am.

For online participants, tickets include the morning talks only (10:00 - 12:00 BST). These will be held on Zoom.

The day is suitable for adults and interested younger people.

Please note that we will be monitoring government guidelines for COVID-19 safety and will advise if there are further rules which must be followed.
