Event description

Description

Ice Queen photography workshop/shoot.

This workshop is aimed at photographers of all abilities. For beginners I will give you full instruction on camera settings and how to photograph in the dark. I will demonstrate how to direct and pose the model to create the best images and then you will have the opportunity to instruct her yourself if you wish. For the more experienced you are free to shoot in your own style and I will offer any assistance you may require.

This 3 hour photography workshop will feature our model Emily as above. On the day of the event Emily will be transformed into an Ice Queen and the streets of Norwich will be our studio along with the Christmas lights and shop windows. I will show you how to illuminate our model using just the available light and explore the use of reflectors to bounce light onto our subject. I will then move on to using flash and experiment balancing the flash with the ambient light. You will also learn how to operate your flash manually giving you more control. We will then explore aperture settings and depth of field to create an image with bokeh. I will provide some portable flash equipment and wireless triggers for you to try but please feel free to bring your own.

The workshop will commence at 4pm from The Forum, Norwich where parking is available (you will have to pay onsite). The workshop will go ahead what ever the weather so please wear appropriate clothing.

Equipment needed for this workshop:

  • Camera which has manual settings
  • Spare batteries
  • Memory cards
  • Flash (don't worry if you don't have one, I have some you can use)
