Thursday/Friday September 22nd & 23rd: Robbin “The Soul Shaker” Kapsalis (USA)

Doors 7:30pm Show: 8:30pm - 10:45pm + encores

Robbin was born on the Southside of Chicago and soaked up the sounds of the legendary blues city before moving to be raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Featuring a powerful and commanding voice that is steeped in the greasy and dirty but still emotionally effecting side of blues, Robbin has all the understanding of the classic phrasing, textures and rhythm of the music. She adds something fresh and sassy to the mix too - so is very much rooted in our time. And as a charismatic front woman, she is second to none with an energy level that is unrivalled in the blues scene today. Think Sharon Jones of the Dap Kings meets Koko Taylor and you might have an idea of the talent level on display here.

Thursday/Friday February 23rd 24th (2023): Dom Martin (UK/IRELAND)

Doors: 7:30pm Show: 8:30pm - 10:45pm + encores

Brought up in the often tough, but community driven streets of Belfast Northern Ireland, Dom has made a fairly 'meteoric' rise in terms of today's industry, with his first ever EP release attracting BBC 6 music and BBC Radio 2 support - including a converted session with Cerys Matthews and an ever growing number of international tours and Festivals. His jaw dropping, entirely natural sounding and unforced/unschooled skill on acoustic guitar, matched with an authentic 'Belfast Blues' voice, brings to mind comparisons with many from (Glasgow born) John Martyn to Rory Gallagher, with nods to many in-between not least perhaps the likes of Van Morrison and Foy Vance.
