Description
Icosa Chamber Choir return to St Botolph-without-Bishopsgate to perform a concert on the theme of a cycle from evening to morning.
Icosa is becoming incresingly notable for performing new music alongside more well-known repertoire and this time it is no different. Three new pieces underpin our concert's theme: Leo Geyer's 'Sunrise in Grey' is a Jazzy static piece with lyrics written by the composer. Steven Calver's 'Night Song' is a piece for 12 voices written in memory of the Orlando Shootings last year. Josh Spear's 'Telltale' creates the midpoint of the cycle, essentially a short dream-like comic opera about a biblical trial. Byrd's Vigilate (staying awake!), Tavener's Dum Transisset (early morning stroll on the Sabbath Day) and other music fill in the gaps from Sunset to Sunrise. N.B. We don't plan to perform a literal All-Night concert, that would be an incredibly silly idea, it's only 7PM - 9PM!
Please join us for what will be an exciting Bank Holiday concert!
