Ind Day 1 - Get into Film with The Mark Milsome Foundation

This special session shines a spotlight on the Mark Milsome Foundation and its role in nurturing emerging talent behind the camera. Producer Zara Trott and DIT Jake Bentley (recent grant recipients) will present 1–2 short works and share their experiences breaking into the film industry. They’ll discuss the challenges faced after graduation and the strategies that helped them gain a foothold.

The Mark Milsome Foundation was created in memory of camera operator Mark Milsome, who tragically died during a stunt shoot in 2017. The charity promotes safer working practices on film sets, offers training, and supports new filmmakers through grants, mentorship, and access to industry pathways.
