Event description
Helpful tips on identification of larger fungi and their habitats in the field.

About this Event

The whole day will take place in the field searching for fungi specimens. It will begin with a brief introduction to the larger fungi and the various groups and their habitats.

You will identify the characters necessary for identification, such as gill attachments and spore colours, and discuss mycorrhizal associations with trees and other plant species.

There will also be a discussion on the edible and harmful species but there will be no collecting other than for identification.

By the end of the session it is expected that you will know:
