Event description

Description

Starting 2nd October and running for 4 sessions, this unique course is aimed at professionals in education, health and social work who are working with or supporting young children in early years settings.

It is designed to support professionals to recognise and support children when they are showing red flags for, or who have early diagnosis of, autism spectrum conditions.

This course will also look in depth at how autism presents in the early years and how best to support children with these challenges using a well evidenced, practical approach that focuses on communication, social interaction and play skills.

Sessions will run from 17.30-19.00 each Wednesday evening at our centre in Pimlico.

Week 1- identifying autism symptoms in the early years

Week 2- exploring evidence based interventions for young children with ASD

Week 3- Developing individual learning profiles and intervention plans

Week 4- Developing effective partnerships with parents and carers

This course will be delivered by Dr Ruth Glynne-Owen, founder and lead consultant at the Blue Sky Autism Project. Blue Sky is currently the only provider of PRT based early intervention in the UK.
