Seminar of Dr. Tyler's engagement with research project on people’s attitudes about and experiences of Brexit.

About this Event

Katharine Tyler (Associate Professor in Anthropology, Department of Sociology, Philosophy and Anthropology) will talk about her current research on ‘Identity, belonging and the role of the media in Brexit Britain’.

Katharine’s research is situated within the interdisciplinary area of critical race and ethnicity studies, with a particular focus on the formation of white racial identities, social class, post-colonialism and Britishness. She is currently the Principal Investigator of an ESRC funded project on ‘Identity, belonging and the role of the media in Brexit Britain’. This research is being conducted by a team of social science researchers based at the University of Exeter and Newcastle University. In this talk, Katharine will set out some of the key themes and ideas that inform this research on Brexit and Belonging.
