Event description
Idler Dinner at the Union Club with comedian, writer and actor Adam Buxton.

About this Event

Note: this event has been postponed to 27 October.

Five times a year, the Idler magazine brings together a collection of writers, speakers and musicians for an evening of fun and feasting held at the Union Club in Soho, and hosted by editor Tom Hodgkinson and Idler Academy director Victoria Hull.

For our third dinner of 2020, we welcome comedian, writer, actor and famed podcaster Adam Buxton. Adam will be giving a talk based on his new memoir Ramble Book, which takes in his burgeoning love of pop culture as a teenager, his feelings on childhood and parenthood, coming to terms with the death of his father and much more besides.

Copies of the book will be available to purchase and there will be a signing session after dinner.

Due to anticipated high demand, tickets are limited to four per single order.

The Speaker

Adam Buxton is a comedian, writer and actor. He presents the Adam Buxton podcast, for which he has interviewed some of the biggest names in popular culture. Along with lifelong friend Joe Cornish he also is one half of award-winning TV, radio and podcast duo Adam & Joe, who have worked together since 1995.

The Venue

The Union Club is a private members’ club situated in a listed Georgian town house in the heart of Soho. It opened in 1993, and for the last twenty-six years has been providing a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for its members.
