Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

The latest Institute film screening will be taking place on Wednesday 7th June from 5pm onwards (film to start at 5.30pm).

We are delighted to say we will be showing I, Daniel Blake (see IMDb) which is a dynamic portrayal of the hard hitting realities faced by many citizens in the UK today. The theme of social inequalities is explored by seminal British Director Ken Loach, who lays bare the cruel realities for those who fall through the cracks of society (The Guardian).

Refreshments will be provided, and we are excited to announce that Dr Nicola Shelton, Professor Graham Scambler and Professor Michael Marmot will form our panel for discussion afterwards. Interim Institute Director Professor Andrew Hayward will introduce the film and take on the role of panel chair.

Please note, the event is only open to UCL Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care students and staff. Security will be present at the entrance of the building and UCL security card access is required for all attendees.
