Mon 8 May 2017, 16:15 – 17:15 BST
UTC Reading is working with the IET (Institute of Engineering and Technology), hosting a series of talks on Women in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).
Talks will be delivered by women in a range of careers and from a variety of backgrounds, aiming to inspire young people to see the wealth of opportunities available to them in STEM.
This talk will be delivered by Kathie Bowden, UK National Space Skills and Career Development Manager for the Institute of Environmental Analytics, on Monday 8 May. Kathie is currently seconded part time to the Space Agency. Here she works on developing programmes to help deliver the skilled employees of the future for the Space Sector. She is involved in steering policy at a national level and also coordinates the SpIN (Space Placements in Industry) scheme. The SpIN scheme is designed to provide an introductory link for those considering employment in the space sector and space sector organisations looking to find the most talented and enthusiastic people to ensure the future success of their businesses.
This event is aimed at young people, parents and anyone interested in careers in the space sector.
