IET / WSCP Event: Unconscious Bias in the Workplace - Cancelled
Thursday, 25 February 2016 from 08:30 to 11:00 (GMT)
The Insitution of Engineering and Technology and Women in Sustainable Construction and Property would like to invite you to an upcoming event on Unconscious Bias
Join us for a breakfast time event on the effects of unconcious bias (UB) whether related to gender, disability, age, ethnicity or a combination can be subtle yet the negative impact is great. This workshop is ideal for employees at all levels and particularly useful for key-decision makers such as recruiters, managers and HR representatives. WSCP and IET encourage both men and women to attend.
Apologies this event has been cancelled by IET on this occassion. We will be organising a further joint event shortly!
Unchecked Unconscious Bias can cause unfair decisions to be made and long-term, can create a very damaging effect for both the employer and employee. Organisations must therefore create a climate of inclusion and a culture of fairness in order to elicit change.
The IET Women' s Network will be working with The People Development Team (PDT Global) to deliver this workshop and highlight some of the elements that make up UB. They will also look at how UB can impact the workforce and what you can do to minimize that impact.
