Event description

Description

Welcome to the first in a series of IEU Engagers' Lunches.

This event will provide ideas about why you might want to engage with policy as part of your research, and how to start. We will hear from Dr Alisha Davies, Head of Research and Development at Public Health Wales and chair of Dr Laura Howe’s research advisory board. Dr Davies will discuss how Public Health Wales find and use research in their work and what they’re looking for when engaging with researchers.

Drawing on Dr Laura Howe and Prof Debbie Lawlor’s experiences of engaging with policymakers, you'll then have a chance to discuss ideas for developing policy engagement with your own research.

A networking lunch will be provided.

  • 12.30 – 12.35 Introduction from Dr Lindsey Pike
  • 12.35 – 13.05 Dr Laura Howe and Dr Alisha Davies
  • 13.05 – 13.20 Prof Debbie Lawlor
  • 13.20 – 13.30 Support available for IEU colleagues
  • 13.30 – 14.00 Networking lunch
