Take the next step with your digital subtitling. Learn about what makes subtitles truly accessible and how you can improve yours.
About this event
Our Programme Systems Manager, Oliver Webster, will help you build on your existing skills and take a more in-depth look on how to ensure your subtitles are fully accessible.
Find out how line lengths, timing, size and colour, can all affect how accessible your subtitles are and the effect this will have with how d/Deaf audiences engage with your work.
We will talk you though:
- What makes subtitles fully accessible and what is the best practice when creating yours
- How to properly describe music and sound effects to make them accessible
- What different types of subtitles are available to you and understand the difference between open and closed captions.
Oliver, will also be available for a Q&A session during this event, and will be answering all your subtitling questions.
This event will be ideal for anyone who subtitles their own content and are interested in making their work more accessible. If you haven't subtitled your work before you can take our free Digital Subtitling Training before joining this event to learn the basics of how to start subtitling your own videos.
This event will be streamed via Zoom and will have live subtitles available.
Once you are registered a link to the event will be emailed to you in advance.
