Presenter – Lee Hopley, Chief Economist, from EEF The manufacturers' organisation will be presenting on
“Building a Stronger, Better Balanced Economy for SME high tech companies"
derived from its strategy The Route to Growth.
Lee leads EEF’s work on the economy and industrial policy. This encompasses both macro-economic issues and matters relating to productivity and competitiveness. She represents EEF on UKTI’s Advanced Engineering Advisory Board and is a member of the Economic Monitoring Panel at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.

Presenter Shoufeng Yang is a senior lecturer in the School of Engineering Sciences at the University of Southampton who has is well recognised for his work using 3D printing in metamaterials, inkjet printing and dry powder printing, combinatorial materials research and tissue engineering scaffold fabrication. He will present on
"the current state and future of rapid manufacture and 3D printing"
He has created powder deposition devices that allow three dimensional functional gradients to be built by selective laser melting. This project was selected for prestigious Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition (royalsociety.org/From-music-to-sand-painting/)

Presenter – David Marsden from Hong Kong Trade and Development Council will present a video case study of recent start-up 3D printing machine manufacturer based in Hong Kong
The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) was established in 1966, and serves as a statutory body dedicated to promoting Hong Kong trade. Its mission is to create opportunities for Hong Kong companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, by promoting trade in goods and services globally.
