IGP Soundbite | Emma Vartolomei, All Street
Thu 8 December 2016, 13:00 – 14:00 GMT
One of the best ways to fuel widespread prosperity is by helping Main Street to invest in itself. History will look back on crowdfunding as the major turning point that finally enables the evolution of our society to one that cares for every one equally. The top-down centralized financial system is replaced by a system built by and for the people in a radically decentralized and highly scalable way. Citizen investors and lenders are setting up the new banking order and their efforts are shaking up the old-world economics with profound social and economic impact. This presentation will discuss these implications for the benefit of us all.
Emanuela Vartolomei is the founder and CEO of All Street Research. An economist by training, she is dedicated to enabling everyone to get involved in the new financial system that crowdfunding is creating. She believes in the power of shared investment knowledge to transform the alternative finance space. Before setting up All Street, she spent more than ten years working in financial services across corporate banking and asset management for Citigroup, ABN AMRO, UniCredit and Dimensional Fund Advisors. She completed her MBA at Oxford University and holds degrees in Financial Management and European Development Studies.
UCL Institute for Global Prosperity’s Soundbite series aims to give an insight into how an organisation or individual aims to contribute to sustainable and inclusive prosperity through their work.
