In this workshop, IISP Director Chris Hodson will be providing advice and practical examples of why strategy and architecture functions are vital for reducing risk and the successful development of a cybersecurity function. For newcomers to the industry, it can be challenging to understand why we need a cyber strategy and where it adds value for stakeholder both inside and outside of the security function.

This session will cover:


  • An introduction to cybersecurity strategy

  • Layers of security architecture: What fits where, and why?

  • Aligning cyber strategy with business objectives

  • Translating requirements into deliverable solutions

  • Architecture in a world of cross-functional working and Agile.

  • Security Metrics: what are they and how do we ensure we provide meaningful information for our business leaders?

You should expect this session to be interactive, drawing on Chris's experience in leading strategy and architecture functions.
