In this Q&A, Chris Hodson (EMEA CISO, Zscaler and IISP Director) will chair a panel to discuss the role of the Cyber Strategy and Architecture function. This panel will tackle some of the challenges of applying repeatable security processes in a world of continuous integration, cross functional working and cloud computing.

Expect this to be a lively debate with the below to be discussed and audience participation is actively encouraged.

Simon Borwick - Cyber Strategy & Transformation Lead Director, PwC UK

Simon is a Director in PwC’s UK Cyber security practice. He has a over 10 years’ experience helping clients to define Cyber security strategies which integrate with and support their wider business strategy. He has helped clients architect and build sustainable security capabilities which both protect and enable the business, which are proportionate, practically implementable, and which position Cyber as a creator of value.

Simon’s strategic expertise is underpinned by deep experience in delivering change. He has defined security operating models for some of the UK’s largest businesses, and made them real as a business change programme leader.

Naomi Springate - Director of Policy, Capability and Engagement, Chief Security Office, Lloyds Banking Group

Naomi joined Lloyds Banking Group Chief Security Office in April 2017. She owns the Group’s Operational Resilience Framework and acts as policy owner for Security Policy, setting the standards for the Group and driving compliance. Naomi also has responsibility across the Group for security engagement and education, working directly with the customer facing businesses to reduce security risks and improve the Group’s security culture. Naomi joined LBG in 2014 as Head of Business Risk for the Group’s Customer Operations teams.

John Walsh - Security Architect, EDF Energy

John is a TOGAF certified Cloud Security architect / consultant and subject matter expert with over fifteen years' experience. As a freelance consultant he helps clients balance risk exposure with risk appetite / budget. Operating at both a tactical and strategic level, helping solve complex cyber security issues whether they are operational, technology or governance related. He has worked on and within a broad range of projects and sourcing environments an is a technology ‘all-rounder’ from Mainframe to Cloud.
