Join us at the iconic 'Ikon Gallery' in half term for a creative day making some wonderful art, inspired by the current exhibition on display "Friends in Love and War".

This exhibition explores the theme of friendship, and we'll be learning how to create sculptures from dough and mono printing with inks and paints. We'll have a tour of the exhibition to get inspired too!

Come prepared to get stuck in, get creative and have some fun :)

End time - 3pm

Age recommendation - The content of the day will be accessible to all abilities, and adapted accordingly. We'd recommend it would be most suitable for those aged between 7 - 16, but all ages are welcome.

Parents - This workshop is designed for the wish child and siblings. We'd like to give our young people the freedom to express themselves, so we are planning to run the session without parents present (though we will need you to remain onsite or nearby). Exceptions to this will be for those who require to remain with their child due to their condition and their needs. For those with complex needs, we will ask for you to remain with them. Please book an adult ticked ONLY if you plan to stay with your child and be involved in the workshop.

Catering - Lunch will be provided for the young people attending. A cafe is onsite for parents who will remain onsite during the day. Please let us know of any dietary needs in advance of attending.

Getting There - Birmingham New Street, Snow Hill and Moor Street Stations are within a 25 minute walk from the Gallery. Ikon is also accessible by bus and tram.

If travelling by car the nearest car park is Q-Park Brindleyplace on Brunswick Street. Orange and Blue badge holders may park on double yellow lines on Oozells Street.

Waitlist - As places are limited, please let us know if you can no longer attend as we will be running a waiting list. If tickets show as fully booked - please do still join our waiting list as we actively manage the guestlist and always end up allocating tickets from our waiting lists.

Cystic Fibrosis - There will be a maximum of one attendee at this event with Cystic Fibrosis to reduce the risk of cross-infection.

Wheelchair users - If you or a family member is a wheelchair user then please indicate this when booking.

Ikon has level access from the street and disabled toilets are accessible.

Photography/video content - We will be taking photos and video throughout the day, and by attending this event you are agreeing for us, and our event partners, to use these photos to promote Rays of Sunshine and the work we do.

This event is restricted to immediate family members only, living in the same household as the wish child.
