We feel that many people in Ilkley and surrounding areas will benefit greatly from the health and wellbeing benefits from learning and practicing Qigong (pronounced chee-gong).
Qigong is a relatively modern Chinese phrase that literally means ‘energy work’. It consists of slow, coordinated mindful-exercise and gentle breathing. These specially formulated exercises that are actually ancient within Lishi are very beneficial for the whole person including physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
The three pillars of the Lishi Qigong that we practice are:
* ‘Alignment’ – ensuring that everything is in the right place at the right time.
* ‘Breath’ – learning to breathe deeply which promotes deep relaxation.
* ‘Energy’ – rather than relying on physical tension you will learn to soften and use your Qi instead.
At Ilkley Qigong you will learn how your natural energy (chi or qi). Qi is the fuel that you use to turn intention into action.
