Illustrated Talk: Garden Cities in France
by Josh Tidy, Curator at The International Garden Cities Exhibition
Wednesday 9th August. Opens 7pm for a prompt 7.30pm start.
Join us for an illustrated talk which explores the legacy of the Garden City Movement as it crossed the English Channel.
Since George Benoit-Levy's book 'La Cite-Jardin' in 1904, France took a keen interest in Garden Cities - from early industrial housing schemes and suburbs built before the First World War to a network of new towns around Paris such as Suresnes and Stains planned by Henri Sellier in the 1920s and 1930s.
This event sees the launch of our latest (free) leaflet, 'Garden Cities in France', following previous publications on Australia, Canada, USA, Brazil and South America.
Tickets are just £3, and include light refreshments.
