Description

Our HR Essentials Development Programme is designed for first time managers, supervisors, team leaders, project managers and change managers who have responsibility for managing people and need to know more about critical HR issues. It will also be beneficial for staff looking forward to progression into a management position and small businesses who do not have any specialist HR staff.

The programme is structured in such a way that it flows through the course of a person’s employment, each module follows the career life via 5 full day workshops -

  • Recruitment Essentials - 29 November 2017
  • Managing Performance - 10 January 2018
  • Maximising Attendance - 7 February 2018
  • Managing discipline and grievance - 14 March 2018
  • Having difficult conversations - TBC

The workshops involve a mix of trainer instruction, individual and group exercises and periods of self-reflection. Learning will be consolidated through facilitated discussion, collaboration and the use of personal action plans.

By the end of the programme, delegates will be able to:

  • Adopt best practice and act legally and fairly throughout the recruitment and induction process
  • Effectively manage the performance of their most valuable resources (their people)
  • Discover the root cause and investigate and deal with instances of absence consistently and fairly
  • Deal promptly, fairly and firmly with staff misconduct and handle grievances consistently
  • Conduct and manage difficult conversations promptly and in a calm and consistent way
