This workshop, which will be held at The City Retreat on Church Gate, aims to help participants to create a vision of a sustainable future that will inspire and sustain them.

In 2020, Leicester Friends of the Earth wrote their own version of Leicester’s Local Plan, to show the City Council their ideas for what a sustainable city could be. This led them to start thinking about the importance of imagination for creating a sustainable future. As Lucille Clifton said, “We cannot create what we cannot imagine.” We all need to carry a vision of a sustainable future that can inspire us to work towards it. Leicester Friends of the Earth will explain why and how they wrote their alternative Local Plan and then lead you through an ‘imagineering’ exercise to help you develop your own vision of a sustainable city.
