Event description

Description

This event offers the chance to hear about the under representation of women in national and public art collections and explores how we can redress the imbalance.

Speakers include Dr Hilary Robinson (Professor of Feminism, Art and Theory at Loughborough University); Mark Doyle (Collections Manager at Touchstones in Rochdale); Christine Eyene (Curator, Critic and Art Historian). The event will be documented by Dr Ella Mills (Art Historian, Black Artists & Modernism Research Fellow).

Read more about the speakers and the Into a Better Shape programme of events created by artists invited by Lubaina Himid to coincide with her Hard Times exhibition at the Harris Museum, Art Gallery & Library.

The programme is funded by Arts Council England, UCLan and Preston City Council. There are more events and activities developed in partnership with advisors from the local community listed here.
