At Imbolc

We arrive in the belly of the earth. We are not quite out of winter, not yet fully in spring. We are inside the warm dark where seeds dream and gently move in gestation, where life gathers itself before emerging. This is the threshold, the place of quiet turning, where the flame is carried from one keeper to another.

Here we will be working with the archetypes of the Cailleach and Brigid: Celtic goddesses and personifications of the land in winter and in early spring. At this threshold the Cailleach and Brigid meet. Winter’s old bone-keeper passes the perpetual flame into the hands of Bríde, Keeper of the Wells and Flames.

Through the winter months we have been tending our inner flame, tending to the ember in the resting and deep dreaming. Now, as light lengthens and the land begins to stir, we are invited to feel that ember quicken in our lives, busniess and creative projects. This season is particuarly special as the Chinese Year of the Fire Horse turns on the 17th Feb :: gifting us with more fire for this season. Our relationship to (inner) fire changes and we are invited to explore this transition together.

In our journey together we will :

Explore the archetype of imbolc in our body, breath and belly

Meet the Cailleach and Brigid as living presences within in embodied meditation, ritual and art making. The process of art making invites us to give shape and form to our inner world & journey. Ritual invites us to root ever more deeply into the ancient mythos of land and nature traditions. Weaving us into deeper connection to the land and our body.

We will then gather in a sharing circle, to give expression and share our experiance around our online hearth.

This is an invitation to lean into the belly of the earth, to feel what is stirring but not yet named, and to carry the winter ember forward into the awakening of the land and your body.
