For technicians working on mobile air conditioning systems containing F gas refrigerants who want to gain a licence to handle refrigerants.

About this Event

Description

Technicians carrying out certain operations on MAC systems containing F gas refrigerants must have appropriate qualifications in compliance with the minimum requirements of Regulation (EC) 307/2008. These operations include the removal of F gas refrigerants from all mobile equipment (excluding those undertaking military operations) when the air-conditioning systems are under maintenance or prior to disposal of the equipment.

Trainee personnel are exempt for up to 1 year, but they must work under the supervision of certificated personnel and must be enrolled on a relevant training course.

This course will consist of training in the workshop and classroom and conclude with an online and practical assessment for the certificate.

Computer-Based Test

Your competency assessment will be made using an on-line computer based test on the day of the course. Please ensure that you are familiar with using a computer and a mouse, and are comfortable with undertaking multiple choice type tests.

Parking is available at Suffolk Rural with no charge.

What precautions are in place relating to Covid 19?

If you are showing any symptoms or have been in contact with anyone showing symptoms in the last 14 days, please do not travel or attend the college.

The college has implemented a range of adjustments in line with Government guidelines. This includes introducing a one-way system around the building, reconfiguring rooms and ventilation, wearing face coverings in communal areas and when 2m distance cannot be maintained such as when being taught a specific skill, applying social distancing in the communal areas and in classrooms/workshops, washing hands with soap and water often for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer gel if soap and water not available.
