    About this event

IMIX, the refugee and migration sector communications specialists, are offering a series of free media training workshops to NACCOM members over the next few months.

The workshops will all take place online via Zoom and will cover different aspects of media training, chosen based on recent feedback members have given us about the support they need.

Details of workshop one (the same session will run once in the morning at 9.30am and in the afternoon at 2.00pm):

The first workshop will cover the basics on communicating about migration and engaging the media. From looking at what the public and different audiences think about immigration, we will explore how this should inform our approach when sharing stories and engaging with the media. We will also cover basic messaging tips, how to respond to negative narratives, preparing for an interview and safeguarding.

This training is for people in Communications roles who want more sector-specific information on media practice, or for people who are not in Communications roles but want to know more about the media landscape and practice in the sector.

A full agenda will follow shortly.

The 90-minute workshop will be interactive and there will lots of opportunities for discussion and to ask questions.

Details about how to access the session will be released via Zoom a few days prior to the event. The ticket allocation is one space per member organisation.

We will operate a waiting list, so if the events are full please do add your name, as we will look to run the sessions again if they are over-subscribed.
