IMMERSIVE LISTENING SESSION
Overview
Combining immersive listening, skill-sharing, and dialogue on field recording as a porous practice where sound, memory, and imagination meet, it fosters ecological awareness, empathy, and collective reflection through creative and participatory approaches.
The event will begin with a brief presentation, followed by a listening session showcasing a selection of works by the artists on a quadraphonic sound system.
Mélia Roger will present Dear Phonocene, an audiovisual piece inspired by scientific research on acoustic enrichment and its role in ecosystem restoration.
Action Pyramid’s Materials Unknown will share an assemblage of unfamiliar sounds from water bodies, soils, and plant matter, encouraging listeners to navigate the interplay between perception and imagination.
Mathias Arrignon’s Brief elegy to the pale will reflect on the allure and loss of Arctic landscapes, using field recordings gathered during an expedition to Svalbard archipelago.
Each piece will be punctuated by a short presentation, Q&A sessions and breaks. A catering area will be set where participants can enjoy a free meal and refreshments.
