The Law Society of Northern Ireland is delighted to announce that the annual Immigration Law Conference will take place virtually on Wednesday 1st December 2021. The theme of the 2021 Conference - organised by the Society in conjunction with the Immigration Practitioners Group - is Protecting Rights in Uncertain Times.

The conference will bring together leading voices in this field - including senior figures, academics, practitioners and Third Sector representatives - and it is designed to be a forum for discussion and the exchange of views through various panel discussions.

It is hoped that the heavily subsided/discounted fee will make the Conference accessible to all interested parties.

Speakers:

The programme for the Conference includes:

- An introduction by the Chair of the Immigration Practitioners Group - Una Boyd;

- A presentation from the OISC Commissioner – John Tuckett;

- Contributions and Q & A from a Refugee & Asylum Law Panel to include Sinead Marmion, Phoenix Law, a representative from the Childrens Law Centre and Ann Marie White, Red Cross;

- An overview of the work of the NIHRC from the Chief Commissioner - Alyson Kilpatrick;

- Contributions and Q & A from a Business and Corporate Immigration Panel to include Phillip McNally, KPMG and Nathan Campbell, Cleaver Fulton Rankin;

- A keynote presentation from the leading Immigration barrister Colin Yeo.
