About the Impact and Improvement Training Course:

Our Impact and Improvement Training Course is specifically designed for informal and non-formal youth provision within the UK. The training sessions will build your knowledge and skills to:

• design youth provision
• undertake quality monitoring
• design appropriate evaluations
• collect relevant and quality data
• identify and embed organisational learning.

Each course is also available as a stand alone to allow you to fill any gaps you might have in your skills and knowledge. Context mapping and Theory of Change are foundation courses that underpin all the others so please ensure you are familiar with these ideas.

NCFE Accreditation Opportunity:

We are excited to be able to offer this course with an accredited approved qualification awarded by NCFE. To gain this accredited outcome, you will work through knowledge-based assessments all linked to work-based practice to demonstrate your evidence. This will take place in an online Virtual Learning Environment. On completion of the course and the assessment processes, you will receive a certificate from the awarding organisation and this can be used to demonstrate recognised prior learning, and support any further learning opportunities you may undertake within the subject area.

About this training session: Formative Evaluation

Formative evaluation refers to the learning aspect of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) and allows organisations to modify projects and activities along the way in order to improve outcomes and impact. It is distinct from summative evaluation, which is about looking back once an activity or project has finished. This short session is designed for people with some understanding of monitoring and evaluation who want to use their evaluation work to learn and adapt the work of their organisation.

Please note that there are 3 places available for each organisation on each of the courses.

About the facilitators :

These sessions will be facilitated by members of the College staff team, who have experience and expertise in a wide range of areas covering research, evaluation and methods, youth voice, programme design and delivery, data, and more. Find out more about the College staff team here.

Refundable Deposit:

We will be asking for payment of a refundable deposit for each training course (excluding the NCFE accredited opportunity), which will be returned to you in full upon attendance at the session (this includes the Eventbrite fee, the cost of which will be covered by the College). The refund policy dates for sessions are as follows:

• Cancellation three weeks before training session = 25% charge (75% of your deposit returned)
• Cancellation two weeks before training session = 50% charge (50% of your deposit returned)
• Cancellation one week before training session = 100% charge (no deposit returned)
• Non-attendance without cancellation = 100% charge (no deposit returned)

We hope you understand that last-minute cancellations can cause a lot of disruption and also incur costs for us. If you have any questions or concerns about this policy, or are unable to pay the fee, please get in touch with training@ymcageorgewilliams.uk . We can provide an alternative option for those who do not have a way to pay the deposit (e.g. if your organisation does not have a company payment card).

If the session needs to be cancelled by the College for any reason, and you have a live registration, your deposit will be returned to you in full.
