IMPACT Guide. Smoking and Mental Health Training - Online sessions

About this Event
FREE training sessions on the adverse effects of smoking on mental health and mental health medication for Third Sector Support Workers (including Volunteers, Peer Mentors and Carers), NHS and Local Authority workers, providing support to people who have mental health problems. First a one hour e-learning module followed-up with a one or two hour session delivered through Zoom two weeks later.
One hour sessions:
- 17th March 2021
- 14th April 2021
- 5th May 2021
- 9th June 2021
Two hour sessions:
- 24th February 2021
- 10th March 2021
- 21st April 2021
- 19th May 2021
- 16th June 2021
The IMPACT Guidance has already been distributed to many organizations and can also be downloaded from www.impact.scot
The one hour session covers:
- effect of smoking on mental health medication
- facilitating discussions about smoking and mental health
- e-cigarettes
- local services to help people stop smoking
The two session also covers:
- IMPACT guidance document
- Ask, Inform, Discuss (AID) brief avice framework
- How AID supports workplace priorities
A welcome email will be sent to you 2 weeks in advance of the course. Also there will be a link to the e-learning module. Please complete this prior to attending the online session.
These sessions will be delivered via Zoom. Please check that you are able to access training through this particular software.

Please note. Although IMPACT training is free, ASH Scotland will charge a £30 administration fee per participant if registration is cancelled less than 48 hours before the training session starts.
