Impact in Mathematics: Sheffield
Addressing the retention issue in maths

This CPD is aimed at to address the retention issues that all pupils experience when faced with our diverse maths curriculum. Through using assessments effectively to ensure that children are taught from the right starting point for them, we aim to provide teachers with the knowledge and toolkits to ensure that all children make good progress in every year group.

The CPD is aimed to answer the following: > Is good progress made by all children in your daily math lessons?
> Do you cater for every child’s starting point? How do you know where to begin?
> Are your assessments used effectively?
> How are pupils grappling with their learning?
> When is the right time to move a child on and intervene?
> How can you impact upon retention? Do the concepts stick?
