Event description

Description

Bailey Fisher Executive Search and Mills & Reeve have pleasure in inviting you to a Women 4 Technology event, 'The Impact of Emotional Intelligence on the Future of Artificial Intelligence'.

We are bringing together a panel of experts from various sectors including:
Professor Rose Luckin, UCL Knowledge Lab, who focuses on the use of AI in education

Dr Kanta Dihal, Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence, which aims to bring together the best of human intelligence to make the most of machine intelligence

Anthony Finbow, Executive Chair/CEO of Eagle Genomics, and an expert in scaling companies at the intersection of life science and data science

Q&A will be moderated by Dr Matthew Howard, Director of Artificial Intelligence at Deloitte, and former European Lead for IBM Watson Healthcare.

The event will explore how a diverse team - in terms of gender, age, ethnic diversity, background and outlook - will affect the artificial intelligence systems being developed. Discussion will also focus on the impact of artificial intelligence on emotional intelligence. As AI becomes more prevalent in many industries, will those who want to remain relevant in their professions need to focus on skills that machines have trouble replicating, such as understanding, motivating and interacting with human beings? Will these human capabilities become more prized in future decades? Or, as AI systems increase in sophistication, with speech recognition technologies that can figure out our emotional state from tone of voice, or face recognition software that can decode facial expressions, will emotional intelligence cease to be the preserve of humans?

Attendance is by invitation at a cost of £10 per head, to be divided equally between our chosen charities: Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), which is dedicated to preventing male suicide, the single biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK; and See Change Films, which believes in the power of film for positive social change.

We are grateful for the support of our Women 4 Technology sponsors: Mills & Reeve, Appleyard Lees and Deloitte; and our supporters: La Playa and Cambridge Wireless.

The event will take place at Mills & Reeve’s offices, which are located 5 minutes’ walk from Cambridge rail station. The event will be attended by 60 - 70 CEOs/CXOs, Chair/NEDs, VPs and investors in technology and life sciences. The majority of attendees at our events are women within these roles, but men are most welcome and actively encouraged to attend.
