About this Event

This CPD session will focus on what has been the impact of school closures on our most vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils and what can schools do about it.

Who should attend?

This session is designed for Principals, SLT and teaching staff from both Secondary and Primary schools.

The tutors

Claire Heald is Standards Director at Inspiration Trust and a National Leader of Education. She has previously been an Executive Principal and opened the Jane Austen College free school in 2014, as founding principal. As a leader in education she is committed to raising educational standards and transforming outcomes for young people. Driven by a belief in inclusion and social justice, she believes that education can be a driving force for equity, particularly for our most vulnerable and disadvantaged young people. Her areas of expertise include: school leadership, executive and MAT wide leadership, school improvement, curriculum development and teacher development.

The tutors

Pete Bloomfield’s career has seen him work in both primary and secondary education in England and Scotland and he has fulfilled many different roles during that period of time including caretaker, teaching assistant, head of faculty and vice principal. He has worked in a wide variety of schools including those in very challenging circumstances as well as very high achieving independent schools. Pete is currency executive principal of two Primary Schools in Great Yarmouth.

Pete believes passionately in inclusive school practices and the power of school culture to transform lives. Much of his work is about engaging and developing a school’s community, both professionally and pastorally.
