Bridge2Busines in colloboration with Future X is proud to present a series of Impact Summit Events across FE Colleges in Scotland. 

The Edinburgh & Lothians event will bring together an impactful event, that will focus on making an impact through business.

Held at The Atrium within Edinburgh College's Sighthill Campus, this event welcomes any student or individual that wants to be inspired and learn more about making an impact through enterprise!

1:15pm - Arrivals/Registration

1:45pmZabia Moulaoui - Founder Of Invisible Cities 

After moving to Scotland 11 years ago, Zakia started working in international development, mainly with organisations supporting people who have experienced homelessness or have been displaces. Zaki was Director of International Partner Development at the Homeless World Cup Foundation for several years before taking time out to travel to Greece and volunteering in a refugee camp on Lesvos Island. 

After her return to Edinburgh, she set up Invisible Cities, a global social enterprise that trains people who have experienced homelessness to become walking tour guides of their own city and offers alternative walking tours to tourists and locals.

3:45pm Gary Young – The Mindful Enterprise 

The Mindful Enterprise was launched as a Community Interest Company in March 2017 and aims to tackle the rising problem of mental health issues in society.

 

The mission of the company is to deliver mindfulness-based wellbeing and personal development training to the business sector and to interested individuals and to use the profits from that activity to subsidise similar delivery to the education sector and to deprived communities.

 

Their education mission is to see mindfulness and meditation integrated into the curriculum of Scottish schools.

 

Gary believes passionately in the power of mindfulness to help unlock human potential and enable a change in the way we approach health and wellbeing which is essential for the future health and prosperity of our planet.

Who We Are

Young Enterprise Scotland is a UK registered charity that has been working with young people in Scotland for over 40 years. YES has a team of passionate staff and committed volunteers who want to help all young people to make a positive transition into the world of work.

YES runs training programmes and provides practical opportunities for young people aged 3 to 30 to get involved with business and enterprise. Whether it's teaching enterprise education in schools, helping young people run their own business in residential units or equipping school leavers with vital interview skills and experience...

We strive to inspire and equip all young people to learn and succeed through enterprise.
