Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust comprise Charing Cross, Hammersmith, Queen Charlotte's & Chelsea, St Mary's and Western Eye Hospitals. The trust treats patients at every stage of life with over 55 specialist services for both children and adults.
With more than one million patient contacts each year, it is one of the largest acute Trusts in the country and, in partnership with Imperial College London, became the UK’s first Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC) in 2009. It has an annual turnover of around £970 million.
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust was created on 1 October 2007, by merging Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust and St Mary's NHS Trust. The Trust and Imperial College London became the UK's first AHSC in March 2009.
Being an AHSC with Imperial College London brings significant benefits for our patients, our people, students and local population, as we take new discoveries and innovations, and promote their application in our hospitals and across the NHS.
