Imperial Lates: Lights, Colour, Action

Come along to Imperial’s most lit Lates! Brighten up your night with a celebration of Diwali and the power and beauty of light through science, art and entertainment.

In this free event we will explore the fascinating ways light helps us understand our world, from sunlight’s effect on our skin to the vast reaches of space.

Step onto the dancefloor for a vibrant Bollywood dance experience, then join the light disco to explore science through movement. Or sit down and experience a playful showdown between Imperial scientists as they compete to prove who has captured the most beautiful image in science, before enjoying some light-themed comedy with Roma Agrawal and Subhadra Das.

Ever wondered what the brightest object in the universe is? Build a team and test your knowledge in the quiz to find out (prizes for the brightest minds!). Then stop by to see Rangoli art being made live to celebrate the Festival of Light.

Throw in a pop-up dance performance, photography and art installations, spotlight talks, a live DJ plus tasty snacks and drinks from the bar, and you have yourself an illuminating night of science fun.

Imperial Lates are a free event intended for an 18+ audience.

All of the spaces are wheelchair accessible, as are the entrance and toilets. There are lifts to any activities on other levels. If you have any specific needs, please don’t hesitate to get in touch: lates@imperial.ac.uk

Please note that if you want to visit the Imperial Lates at a quieter time of the event, the event is least busy from 18.00-19.00 and 20.30-21.00.

Imperial Lates are in the main entrance of Imperial College London’s South Kensington campus. To find the event, please enter off Exhibition Road. The nearest train stations are South Kensington and Gloucester Road. You can find the entrance with what3words at debate.party.plenty.
