Who should attend?

This session is for Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Speech and Language Therapists, Speech and Language Therapy Assistants and practitioners working with children who are using symbol based Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems. The session will consider assessment, planning, activities and review of communication targets for individuals using AAC. This session is the second of a two part training session. It is recommended that attendee's sign up to both sessions where possible.

What will I learn?

  • To explore how and when to create opportunities for communication
  • To explore linking AAC targets to everyday activities
  • To consider the importance and skills of effective communication partners
