Is your organisation interested in using Open Badges?
This free event, open to anyone, will let you know how to get started as an Open Badge issuer. You’ll find out what opportunities there are to use badges, the technology you need and how to make sure your badges work for your learners.
You will have the opportunity to gain an Open Badge from the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and leave the event with an action plan to help you implement Open Badges within your own organisation.
The event will explore:
the opportunities for Open Badges, where you might use them and why
the websites and software that allow you to issue Open Badges
essential things needed for a successful Open Badges programme.
You will hear from organisations that actively use badges, participate in group work and be invited to share your own Open Badges journey.
Spaces are available either at the event in Edinburgh or through a live stream if you can’t make it to Edinburgh on the day.
When & Where
Fire Starter Festival 2017
The Fire Starter Festival 2017 was a week long festival of collaborative learning events between 23 and 30 January, illuminating creative, disruptive and innovative ways in which we can all transform ourselves, our organisations and the wider system.
The First Minister has provided a clear commitment to empowering individuals and communities to become involved in designing public services. Many people across Scotland are currently lighting their own small fires by exploring genuine, participatory methods of engagement, creating innovative and transformative changes.
The Fire Starter Festival provides a unique opportunity to share the stories of these fires of change, as well as deepening our knowledge and skills that underpin transformation. It allows people from all aspects of public service to share innovative and creative ways that we are all making a difference to Scotland.
Fire Starter Festival will be back 29 January to 9 February 2018.
