The rise in globalisation over the recent years has changed where goods are manufactured across the world. Businesses are now relocating the manufacturing of their goods to countries with lower production costs, with many of the chosen manufacturing countries being outside of the EU. Furthermore, there has been a rise in companies actively involved in moving goods between markets for repair work, processing goods and moving goods abroad on a temporary basis.
The affect of this is an increase in non- EU imports into the UK. It is essential that the staff within a company are aware of all the import procedures required. It is also important the purchasing and shipping staff are knowledgable in their extra responsibilities. Additionally, the finance department in an organisation need to be made aware of the impact of import procedures and HMRC regimes on their finances.
The course is desiged to teach delegates about HMRC regimes such as Inward/ Outward Processing Relief, warehousing and end use relief and how to implement these correctly. You will also develop an understanding of the role HMRC play in managing the import process, the implications this has on you as an importer and the requirements from you in order to efficiently move goods into the EU.
By the end of the course you will understand the import requirements for companies, which will help with efficient importing, preventing complex issues arising in the future and preventing any duty/ VAT non-compliance demands from HMRC.
This course contributes to 3 modules of the Foundation Award - Import procedures, Customs procedures and documentation, and Inward and Outward Processing - HMRC
