Monet, Cezanne, Pisarro, Renoir. We know these names. These are the names of the Great MEN of impressionism, we know their stories, how they strove to push out beyond the accepted boundaries of what was acceptable in art, we know how they paved the way for painters everywhere to rebel, revolutionise the way that paint feels on a canvas, to create in dazzling technicolour. But what you probably don't know, is that there was a group of indomitable, pioneering Women at the forefront of this movement aswell.

Join Luisa Maria MacCormack of the London Drawing Group as we delve into the world of the women of the impressionist movement, this session will explore the work and stories of Berthe Morisot, Mary Cassat, Eva Gonzalès, Marie Bracquemond and many more! We will examine the odds stacked against these women in terms of education, accessibility, subject matter and more, and how their work has been relegated to the sidelines of one of art-history's greatest moments.

We will also explore the recent surge of interest in their unique approach, and how the lives of these incredible artists continue to live on in their artistic legacies.

Your ticket includes access to the live class and 7 days access to the recording.

Everyone is welcome to join this Pay-What-You-Can class. We suggest a donation of £20 . However, we understand that may not be possible for everybody. Please be honest and pay what you can afford so that we may continue to offer our sessions on a donation basis.

Once you have booked your place, you will be able to access information on how to join the event via your eventbrite "Online Event Page". You can access this by signing into eventbrite using the email that you booked with.

RECORDING

The recording of the session will be sent out after the class ends, within 2 hours. PLEASE ADD londondrawinggroup@gmail.com to your email contacts to ensure that you recieve the email containing the recording promptly.
