Event description
6 week improvisation course. Release your inner playfulness with a fun introduction to this life-changing artform.

About this event

Improvisation is co-creating something in the moment, and it’s a skill we need every day. This 6 week introduction to comedy improvisation will teach you the basics of thinking on your feet and collaboration, as well as the life-affirming importance of play. Practice doing this in a relaxed and supportive group and it will filter through into your life.

We’re all creative but perhaps this playful side of you has been forgotten in adulthood. It’s time to unleash it! Working with the same people each week, you’ll bond and build confidence as you learn, play and grow together.

  • Loosen up and unleash your playful side.
  • Let go of control / perfectionism, and be more at ease going with the flow.
  • Become more confident expressing yourself and taking up space.
  • Embody new characters and experience playing different roles.
  • Step boldly into the unknown, think on your feet and adapt to the unexpected.
  • Recognise your own patterns and try out new ways to be
  • Connect, collaborate and create with others.
  • Surprise yourself and laugh a lot!

The classes will be very interactive with group games, pair exercises and lots of laughter.

In a warm and supportive atmosphere, we’ll open up spontaneous expression and build on each other’s ideas. There’s no pressure to get anything ‘right’ - in fact, joyful failure is encouraged as we inspire each other and go with the flow. We’ll move, express and pretend; creating new worlds together from the silly to the profound!

An opportunity to have fun in a compassionate and safe space, this liberating experience will leave you feeling more connected, confident and alive. We’ll also see how improv enriches our personal development and understanding of ourselves, and what this practice means for us ‘in real life’.

Course runs online, using Zoom.

Maximum 12 participants (min 6), to build group trust and give everyone lots of playtime.
