Event description

Description

Discover how singing is the vehicle to help pupils develop lasting musical skills.

Explore Sing Up’s approach to integrate singing into your music curriculum as a way of developing your pupils’ vocal confidence, musical skills, knowledge and understanding. Use these techniques to incorporate small amounts of high quality singing activity regularly in your music lessons to achieve maximum impact with your pupils.

The training event is entirely active and singing based. As well as tips on getting all pupils singing, you’ll explore techniques to support the development of aural skills through singing covering:

  • pitch matching
  • musical memory
  • pulse & rhythm
  • intervals and scales
  • basslines, chords and cadences

The techniques will be suitable for different age groups and abilities, across a range of music topics and covering skills and knowledge to support KS3 and KS4. In addition to developing musical skills, singing is an excellent way of improving young people’s confidence and self-esteem.

You’ll improve your confidence in singing and leading singing, with techniques to put into action as soon as you’re back in school.
