Another true story to illustrate:- An administrative client stated their achievement was saving 3 days in a monthly reporting cycle. I asked what did they and their team do with the 3 days? The reply, helped with sales order processing. I asked if that increased the sales each month ? Yes came the answer. I asked about the value of the extra sales processed? Turned out to be three times their salary in a year. The 3 day saving wasn't the real achievement, it was the additional sales processed and what it meant for the business in terms of extra revenue. Imagine the delight his person felt knowing their true value to the business. They had paid for themselves and given the company extra revenue. Who would have thought it?! It also worked wonders for their confidence.
